The Randy Shaver Celebrity Golf Classic began in 1995, raising $27,000. It has grown to be arguably one of Minnesota’s most successful charitable golf tournaments. To date, nearly four million dollars has been raised to support cancer research and educational programs in Minnesota. Randy’s focus has always been cancer research and Minnesota’s Cancer Community. However, the fight became personal after the 1998 tournament when he was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin’s Disease. His treatment and current remission prove that this community and its generosity have made an impact with Randy and others like him.
Whether you are a sponsor, volunteer, individual donor, grant recipient, cancer patient, or survivor you are "the key to the cure". Each key is custom fit to the lock that opens the door. Although it may be intricate, it can be accomplished with time, patience and fortitude. WE ARE THE KEY TO THE CURE.
